The end of “Descendants Royal Wedding” declared – Descendants 4 confirmed

On Friday, Mal and Ben’s big day finally came with the premiere of Descendants: The Royal Wedding, but the highly anticipated ceremony didn’t go entirely smoothly.

Despite Audrey’s best efforts as Mal’s official wedding planner – which is crazy considering she dreamed of marrying Ben herself for years – it was chaos to begin with. Dude the Dog chased Maleficent around the castle, Snow White’s pigeons literally flew through the stable and, oh yes, Hades accidentally set the venue on fire. (Mal just had to say, “Nothing could ruin this day,” right?)

Because Mal refused to marry without her entire family, she returned to the Isle of the Lost to bring Hades back to Auradon. But before she and the VKs returned to their old turf, Jay and Evie gave Mal an early wedding gift – a charm bracelet with all of their family crests, including that of Carlos (played by the late Cameron Boyce). It represents “the four VKs that are forever connected,” Evie explained.

With the help of Uma, who oversized herself to put out the fire Hades had left on the bridge, the VKs arrived on the new and improved island (“I love that the island had a big glow!”) to meet Mal’s father. A pair of thugs, presumably the sons of Pain and Panic, tried to block Mal’s entry into Hades’ hideout, but her dragon form was a little harder to avert.

Hades stated that his literal breakdown was a total misunderstanding and that not even he was ruthless enough to ruin the happiest day in his daughter’s life. When Ben saw how happy Mal was with her father by her side, Ben suggested that they marry immediately – after the fairy godmother had arrived with Belle and King Adam in tow, of course. And just like that, Ben and Mal became husband and wife, all to the rhythm of an infectious new catchy tune called “Feeling the Love”. Check out everything in the video below:

But wait, there’s more! After exchanging vows and dancing the night away, Mal and Ben apologized for a moonlit stroll. “So this is what a happy life feels like afterward?” he asked, to which she replied: “For us? Yes. But another story could only just begin somewhere. “

The camera then panned to a bunch of white roses – painted red, of course – and led us down the rabbit hole before turning black. While Disney Channel hasn’t officially announced anything yet, it’s safe to say that at some point we’ll get a Descendants 4, with a relative of Alice in Wonderland’s Queen of Hearts as the main protagonist.

Okay, let’s talk: do you think the story of Mal and Ben ended appropriately? How did you choke in that Carlos moment? And what do you think of the Queen of Hearts descendants taking the lead in a potential Descendants 4? Rate the special below, then Leave a comment with your full rating.
