A developer who said a few weeks ago that he was “really excited” about a project involving the old Masonic Temple building on Binghamton’s West Side is now trying to sell the property.
Isaac Anzaroot acquired the six-story building near Binghamton High School three years ago for about $ 67,000. Its asking price for the site and an adjacent parking lot is $ 1,999,000, according to an online listing
WBNG 12 News first reported that Anzaroot had put the Masonic Temple site up for sale.

In early May, workers came to the property to remove debris from the 99-year-old building.
Anzaroot has proposed 38 residential units with a total of 56 bedrooms for the six-storey building.
After work on the site began last month, Anzaroot said the roof would be repaired before construction begins inside.

The client had indicated that July 2022 would be his goal for the occupancy of the building. He said he wanted to finish the project in time for the structure’s 100th anniversary.
In a recent conversation, Anzaroot told WNBF News that work on the building was progressing, but didn’t mention that he was trying to find a buyer for the property.
Anzaroot previously acquired another high profile building in Broome County with ambitious plans before selling the property to another developer.
In late 2017, Anzaroot bought the old Endicott Johnson Victory Building in Johnson City for $ 250,000 from Broome County for a senior housing project.
Plans for this development failed. Anzaroot sold the property to a Syracuse developer for $ 1.6 million in March 2020.
