Craze to have dogs at weddings takes off — and specialist companies are swamped | Ireland

Businesses providing a chaperone service for dogs at weddings, including grooming and canine tuxedos, have experienced a sharp increase in bookings from couples who got puppies during the Covid-19 lockdowns. Pet Sitters Ireland, which offers a wedding service from €250, said that before the pandemic it received three to five bookings a month, but this has increased tenfold since restrictions were lifted.

Kate McQuillan, Pet Sitters’ co-owner, said that after spending almost two years at home with their dogs, many couples considered their pets part of the family. “We offer a variety of options for people.
