The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday evening (2.09.) The distribution of 16 million vaccine doses against Covid-19 by the end of the week. The volume will ship 10.4 million Coronavac vaccines manufactured by the Butantane Institute and 5.6 million lots from Pfizer to states and the federal district.
The mass distribution will accelerate the rate of vaccination in the country. Brazil has already outperformed the United States in vaccination rates: 61.96% of Brazilians have received a dose of the immunizer, according to the media consortium, while 60.96% of Americans are in the same condition.
According to the Department of Health, 192,075,392 vaccines were given between the first two doses (130,440,173) and the second dose (61,796,738). Find out more about the vaccination rate in your state here.
#ValeRembrar: Even if vaccinated, care must be taken to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection and avoid infection.
With vaccinations, governors have eased preventive measures
The increased vaccination coverage resulted in the lifting of the country’s governors’ strict preventive measures. On August 17, João Doria (PSDB) ended restrictions on time limits and employment for trade and other economic activities. However, on Wednesday (September 1), the capital began to ask for a vaccination certificate to prove that he was taking a dose to attend large events and even some restaurants.
This Thursday (2/9) it is the federal district’s turn to lift the restrictions. Governor Ibanés Rocha (MDB) suspended the curfew, which was at 1 a.m., and began operating the economic sector according to each institution’s work permit. Concerts with a high number of people and the sale of mandatory tickets are still prohibited. But weddings, christenings, birthdays and family celebrations are also allowed, for example, without any time limit.
