Jennifer Cimino Photography celebrates its tenth anniversary

JCP’s photo box became an instant hit

Jenn Cimino is in its tenth year of business, and it just goes on for the talented, award-winning photojournalist.

“Everyone calls me Jenn, but the business is Jennifer Cimino Photography,” said Jenn, whose father Patsy is the noted owner of The Meat Market at 224 Winthrop Street in Winthrop.

“I worked there when I grew up in school,” said Jenn, whose mother is Kathy Fauci. “My father was a great role model for me in my business.”

Jennifer Cimino Photography saw tremendous growth in 2019 when she decided to purchase a new photo booth to expand her offerings. But the COVID-19 pandemic hit the region hard and virtually all social gatherings have been canceled.

“I literally bought the photo box right before the pandemic started in February (2020),” Jenn said. “I did a photo booth job before the pandemic and then it was a break because clearly no one was hosting social events.”

But with the return of indoor and outdoor social gatherings, Jenn’s new photo booth is in high demand.

“I used the photo box for birthday parties, christenings and a political fundraiser,” Jenn said. “It’s called an open-air photo booth, so it’s not one of those big, clunky booths that people used to build. It prints color photo strips on site, or you can have the photo sent to you via SMS or email. It gives you an instant photo. It is great. We love it. It was a great addition to the business. Most people just want to post their photo on social media and the photo box gives them an instant opportunity to do so. “

The other aspects of their business are back in full swing. She is also the Official Photographer for the Winthrop Youth Football and Cheerleading Program and the Revere High School Yearbook. She also creates a year-end slideshow for the RHS Awards Banquet and is a dance photographer for Rachel Ferrantes Academy of Performing Arts.

Family photos, wedding engagement photos, and company photos also keep them very busy while customers inquire about the JCP Photo Booth for weddings, birthday parties, baby showers, and graduation parties.

to have a career Decision in 2011

Cimino, 36, decided to open her photography studio in 2011 a year after graduating from the New England School of Photography. Prior to that, she graduated from Revere High in 2003 and Bentley University in 2007, and graduated from the premier Business School in Waltham with a degree in business administration.

After college, Cimino started working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car and decided, “The business world wasn’t for me. I started to pursue my passion. I’ve loved photography since I was little. “

Cimino entered the media industry, shooting news and sports photos for the Independent Newspaper Group, which also includes the Revere Journal and the Winthrop Sun Transcript. She viewed every photo as a work of art, and the community responded to her excellence, and readers regularly requested prints of her photos.

She soon opened her own studio in Winthrop and began socializing, notably she was hired for the Revere High School yearbook which included all RHS senior photos and action and team photos for all RHS Patriots teams.

Started her craft in sixth grade in Lincoln

Jenn Cimino follows her introduction to photography through sixth grade at Abraham Lincoln School in Revere.

“I helped with the yearbook,” recalls Jenn. “I used my father’s camera – I always had a camera with me and took photos, and the school put them in the yearbook.”

This affinity for photography grew dramatically at Revere High School. “My photography teacher, Joanne McKenna, really brought my passion for photography to life,” Jenn said. “She was a great mentor and still supports me in pursuing my passion and love for photography.”

Although she didn’t play sports at Revere High School, she took photos at games, including her class’s flag football game against North Reading. “I just always had my camera with me,” she says.

Start a family in the city of Revere

Jenn Cimino, who is married to Keith Hallissey, has a stepdaughter Grace, a two year old son, Johnny, and a nine month old son, Max. The family lives in Revere.

“It’s busy, but I still love what I do,” Jenn said. “The business continues to grow and we book a lot of events through Facebook and Instagram and through word of mouth.”

The hectic times have not stopped her from her other passion: the Boston Bruins.

“We love the Bruins and are still season ticket holders,” Jenn said. “Our seats are three rows behind the goalkeeper. I’ve been to a few playoff games. I was at game 7 [in 2019] when the Bruins lost to the Blues (with a 4-1 score). But I have great memories of the Bruins Canucks series when we won the cup. “

But it’s photography that continues to be her focus outside of family life.

“I was fortunate enough to be able to work in photography full-time with my client base and everything else,” Jenn said. “I can just do photography and I feel very blessed to be able to do so.”

And their Revere High School clients and students are very blessed to have a consummate professional at their job. Jenn Cimino does what she loves and does it exceptionally well.
