Married to First Sight UK returns with an explosive new format

Married at First Sight is a worldwide hit.

The show, where bridges and grooms get married even though they never met, originally started in the Netherlands but has shown series around the world including Australia, America and France to name a few.

The British series will return to our TV screens shortly when Love Island is done – but there are going to be some big changes.

This time around, the show will be formatted more like its successful Australian counterpart, reports The Sun.

In previous UK seasons, two couples have met, but only once. This time, eight scientifically based couples will be paired who will only see each other at the altar on their wedding day.

One of the most exciting changes is that the couples are also brought together for a dinner party every week.

Fans of the Australian series will know it can get pretty explosive, so we’re probably set for more drama here as well.

The couples also meet every week for engagement ceremonies, where they make bomb declarations to decide whether to stay together or separate.

Another Australian element brought to the show is one of the experts – Charlene Douglas.

She has joined the UK show as a sex and relationship therapist and works with Celeb Goes Dating Paul C. Brunson and Mel Schilling.

The show will be back with the couples on their wedding day, honeymoon, and moving in together before deciding whether to stay married or quit.

A trailer has been released for the new series, but it does not reveal an exact date or participation.
