LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Dresses, shoes, flowers and decorations, when someone plans a wedding, many things accumulate. A local mother-daughter duo works to get people off these items while helping others plan weddings while saving money.
Wedding Cosign and Design is located in the Meadowlane Shopping Center at 70th and Vine Streets. It’s more than just a wedding shopping location, it’s a family business unique to the area.
“The amount of things we have here is endless,” said Jenna Williamson, co-owner. “You could plan your whole wedding just by walking in and looking at the decorations.”
Jenna Williamson and Cindy Manley are the mother-daughter duo behind the store. Her family had two weddings just a year apart, so Manley’s house was filled with decor and wedding supplies.
“We just thought, gosh, there has to be a place where people can bring this stuff and not have to try and sell it themselves,” said Cindy Manley, mom and co-owner.
“We were looking for consignment stores in the Lincoln area or Nebraska really, so we decided to open our own store,” Williamson said.
They opened in August 2017 and moved to a larger building due to demand.
“In the midst of the pandemic, we made the decision to move to a larger location,” Williamson said. “We needed the space, we doubled our square footage. We ran out of space.”
Since weddings can get expensive, the family is happy to help engaged couples plan a budget wedding and also handles hand-to-handling for newlyweds.
“People really appreciate that we’re here,” Manley said.
“It was really fun,” Williamson said. “We get along great. We always think the same thing, on the same page. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else.”
