BENGALURU: The new normal lifestyle induced by Covid 19 has forced Bangalore’s social hangouts to weave a synergy between meet and greet and wellness sessions. Let’s get a little glimpse of this new trend of socializing in conjunction with a fitness program. Reset Koramangala, a holistic fitness center and cafe, has introduced clubbing food and fitness activities so that people can relax the mind, body and spirit most of all after the grueling lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Surendra Kedia, owner of Café Reset Koramangala, says: “We have introduced yoga sessions at sunrise and sunset followed by brunch and dinner. People can book in advance in groups and join the sessions on any day. We conduct the sessions with a limited number of people ranging from 15 to 20 people. The idea is to help people relax and unwind with fitness and wellness activities like yoga, pranayama, meditation, and some fun activities. It also includes a hot tub, spa treatment, and steam room, ”says Kedia.
However, some restaurants have implemented a wait and watch strategy. Hitesh Tulsani, Manager, Sales and Operations for Rahi Neo Kitchen and Bar, for example, plans to introduce a breakfast and fitness combination in the coming weeks. “We plan to offer nutritious breakfast options along with yoga and meditation sessions for our customers. The plan is on the cards and as soon as we have assessed the customer frequency, we will roll it out in the coming days, ”says Tulsani.
Not only cafes but also wedding locations offer wellness activities as part of the wedding package. Le Roma Gardenia, a wedding location, plans to include wellness activities in their 48-hour wedding package. We also want to give a little orientation about the ups and downs of life with families at weddings. This is to ensure that the couple have relaxing and refreshing wellness sessions before starting their new journey together, ”says Rohan Salian, founder of Le Roma Gardenia. Mita Vinay, founder of Bodhsara Wellness and Salt Studio, provides social healing services where people meet and greet while focusing on health and wellbeing.
Meanwhile, wellness experts believe that such social hangouts usually have a hard time enforcing strict health protocols, and fear of the virus remains high. Wellness coach and Fit India ambassador Wanitha Ashok says: “Sometimes health protocols are disregarded for such disregard. Fear of the virus continues and many people limit themselves to fitness routines at home, ”says Ashok.
