Coronation Street is reportedly set to see a Christmas Day wedding this year as Tyrone Dobbs plans a surprise festive ceremony for girlfriend Fiz Stape.
The mechanic, played by Alan Halsall, is said to pull out all the stops for a special day for his love and does his level best to keep the details hidden from Fiz (Jennie McAlpine).
However, the nuptials are set to go pear-shaped as it’s reported that the bride will go missing on the big day.

A source told The Sun of the festive plot: ‘Tyrone manages to keep it such a secret furious Fiz thinks he has made no Christmas plans.
‘She sets off on Christmas Day to try and get stuff for dinner but her car breaks down and she has no phone signal.
‘Meanwhile, back in Weatherfield, everyone is ready for the wedding. The big question is, “Will they, won’t they?”.’

The wedding excitement come just months after Fiz dumped her former fiancé Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna) at the age before getting back together with her true love Tyrone.
Earlier this year, Tyrone and Fiz stars Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine opened up about the possibility of their characters getting married.

Jennie told TV Times ‘Oh yes!’ at the thought of Fiz and Tyrone tying the knot, while Alan remarked: ‘Definitely! Finances will dictate what kind of wedding they have, but however it happens, I’ll be happy.’
He continued: ‘My mum has always said, ‘If Tyrone and Fiz get married, I want to be in the congregation!’
On the odds of the characters getting married this year, he added: ‘I don’t know, but I’d have a bet on it. They’ve got a lot of history together and they know what they want, so there’s no point in hanging around.’

While Jennie questioned whether it was right to wear the same wedding dress twice in one year.
Elsewhere, in further wedding joy on the street, it’s also reported that Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) will proposes to girlfriend Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) using a ring from a cracker.
The proposal comes three years after the death of his late wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) following a battle with cervical cancer.
