Popular Burke County wedding venue destroyed in fire, officials say – WSOC TV

BURKE COUNTY, NC — A popular venue in Burke County has been destroyed after a fire early Sunday morning.

The Fire Marshal’s Office said it received a call about a fire at the Pavilion at Silver Fork Vineyard and Winery around 5:30 am

No one was inside the venue at the time of the fire. Fire officials estimate that there were half a million dollars in damages.

The Pavilion at Silver Fork has been used for several events such as weddings, bridal showers, family reunions, and birthday parties.

Channel 9’s Dave Faherty spoke with Burke County School Board member Seth Hunt, who said he was supposed to get married at the venue in less than three weeks.

Hunt said he knows the owners of the Pavilion and will be working with them so he can still get married at the venue.

“We’re still working on details you know. We’re gonna work with them and they were like, ‘don’t worry we’re gonna make this work.’ So we’re not gonna worry because if that’s what they say. I know that’s what they’re gonna do,” Hunt said.

Fire officials said the cause of the fire remains under investigation. However, the vineyard and winery did not suffer any damage.
